Speed Clinic

This clinic is designed for any runner who wants to improve their long distance running speed, whether it be in the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon or Ultra-Marathon.

Winter Session A – $90 plus HST for 19 Speed Work Sessions

TUESDAY EVENINGS AT VARIOUS TIMES AND LOCATIONS

  • Tuesdays, from January 14 to May 19, 2020
  • Run indoors from January 14 to March 24 at
    Thompson Arena, Western University
  • 8:50 to 8:55pm – Meet at track-side to drop bags and stretch.
  • 9:00pm SHARP! Indoor warm-up starts.
  • 9:15pm – Workout starts.
  • March 31 to May 19 at 6:00pm
    Gibbons Park parking lot

Winter Session B – $90 plus HST for 19 Speed Work Sessions

TUESDAY EVENINGS GIBBONS PARK

  • Outdoor Speed Clinic from January 14 to March 24, and then join the clinic at Gibbons Park at the times shown below. 
  • The Outdoor Speed Clinic meets at 6:15 PM at Citi Plaza, upstairs from GoodLife.
  • March 31 to May 19 at 6:00pm

Summer Session – $90 plus HST for 19 Speed Work Sessions

TUESDAY EVENINGS AT VARIOUS TIMES AND LOCATIONS

  • Tuesdays, from June 9 to October 13, 2020
  •  All workouts will be at Gibbons Park @ 6 PM until further notice. (It is possible that Western will open up the track for us in July, in which case we’ll work out there every second week until the end of August, at which point clinics will run solely from Gibbons Park.)

WARM UP:
If you have arrive late and have NOT done a proper warmup, we request that you miss some of the workout to get a warmup in and join the workout in progress. Injuries can occur not warming up enough. Please also warm down after the workout.

  • Minimum training base recommended
  • Good training shoes (Coach John can provide some advice)
